1880s Carved Pearl Stud - Victorian Universal Button
This stud is a solid carved disc of mother of pearl shell. Victorian button studs are useable and quite collectible. This stud style was sold in the 1880s and they were used as vest buttons, collar buttons, and shirt and collar studs.
The stud is a two-piece mechanism that comes apart by the tabs on the side. Some of these came with patent dates of 1879 and 1880s, you may or may not see it on this one. For being 145 years old, this button is in great usable or collectible condition.
