Garnet Glass Flower and Crescent Victorian Stud Button
This stud is trimmed with rolled gold plate and has a incised crescent with a rose cut garnet glass rhinestone. To the side is a blue leaf enamel flower with a garnet glass center cabochon. Victorian button studs are useable and quite collectible. This universal button style was sold in the 1880s and were used as vest buttons, collar buttons, and shirt studs.
The stud is a two-piece mechanism that comes apart by the tabs on the side. Some of these came with patent dates of 1879 and 1880s, you may or may not see it on this one. For being 145 years old, this button is in great usable or collectible condition.
