When it comes to geometric, these squares are 19th century geometry. They are goldstone cuff buttons and the metal is 1880s rolled gold plate.
The backs flip to one side and they hold securely. These were the beginning of the actual cufflink market and are called cuff buttons, 1880s, Victorian.
