Victorian Tri-Gold Cuff Buttons- A Mimic of Back Hills Gold
In the 1870s Black Hills gold was discovered. When that came about the Victorian goldsmiths wanted colored gold as well but couldn't get it. Reason being, there was only one place for Black Hills Gold and that is in South Dakota.
These cufflinks have white, green and rose colored gold. The design is unknown to us. The back locking mechanisms swivel left and right, this style of back was not out long and the dating on them would be 1890s.
Thank you -
